Properties of alpaca wool

Alpaca wool is naturally high quality and it is renowned for its warmth and softness. Alpaca wool is also a non-itching and hypo-allergenic, unlike wool from sheep. And because it does not contain lanolin it has no smell.

Our alpacas produce high quality wool with fibres under 25 microns in diameter. And to ensure its fineness and quality we get it tested by the Australian Alpaca Fleece Testing service in the UK.

Compared to other luxury wool products like cashmere, alpaca wool is significantly more sustainable. This is because alpacas are more productive and cause very little damage to the soil, unlike cashmere goats, which can be quite destructive. In addition, Finland has very strict environmental regulations, so you can be sure that all Cria alpaca wool is environmentally responsible.
